Dr Nihan Aydemir and bees
MacDiarmid Institute alumna Dr Nihan Aydemir spent time as a Postdoctoral chemist at Plant and Food Research.
Her research there was focused on mimicking how insects use proteins to smell. Nihan was aiming to insert biosensors into mobile phones that can ‘smell’ and detect, for example, explosives and illegal drugs at airports.
The science is cool. It’s like you're the first one doing something on earth.
