Dr Vedran Jovic completed his PhD at the University of Auckland in 2014. His doctoral work was on the development of semiconductors for photocatalytic H2 production. From 2014 until 2019, he was a post-doctoral scientist based at the Advanced Light Source Synchrotron of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. There he worked on the solid-state physical properties of materials for solar h2 production and for use as platforms for novel physical phenomena.
