The MacDiarmid Institute is led by one Director and three Deputy Directors.
The Director is responsible for the oversight and strategic direction across all areas of the Institute.
The Deputy Directors are responsible for: encouraging and fostering commercialisation of MacDiarmid Institute science to ensure the benefits of research are available to those who can put them to productive use, and that our members gain expertise in commercial analysis of their research; and stakeholder engagement through partnerships with key practitioners in outreach and science communication, including with communities, government, educators and students.
The Director and Deputy Directors are supported by the Institute Manager, Programme Manager, Strategic Engagement and Communications Manager, Commercialisation and Industry Engagement Manager and the Strategic Manager Māori.
Strategic Manager Māori, Kirsty Doyle, is from Ngāti Kahungunu, Rongomaiwahine, Ngāti Rakaipaaka.
