New Zealand Materials Research Society
Currently, there is no materials research society in existence within New Zealand that caters for and links the community of researchers working in the various research fields of materials science and engineering. I would like to announce the formation of a newly incorporated materials society in New Zealand – The New Zealand Materials Research Society (NZMRS). A/Prof Steve Durbin (Electrical, UoC) and Dr. Shaun Hendy (VUW) have laid the groundwork for rolling out an incorporated materials society but we are going to need help in getting this off the ground. If you work in the materials field it would be good if you could get behind this initiative as there are lots of benefits that come with being associated with a local society such as this (e.g. networking and collaborative opportunities, information exchange, PG recruitment, research group publicity, annual conferences, video link ups using KAREN, links to your group or research via the NZMRS website.
The membership fees are zero in this first year for everyone and will be zero for students into the future.
