Biography

Ebubekir Avci received his PhD degree in robotics from Osaka University, Japan and was a Postdoctoral Researcher at Toyota Technological Institute, Japan in the field of parallel mechanism robots. Then, he was a Research Associate with the Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery, Imperial College, London. He is currently an Associate Professor in Mechatronics and Robotics at Massey University.

Research interests

Ebu’s research is focused on applying robotics approaches to bio-medical field in small scales. His research interests include nano-scale robots for molecule analysis, micro-scale robots for cell manipulation, and millimeter-scale robots for GI Tract analysis. In addition, he is interested in micro-nano manufacturing to develop novel smart mechanisms.
