MacDiarmid PI and GNS scientist Andreas Markwitz has organised an international workshop at Rotorua’s Whakarewarewa Village focussing on ion beam analysis in commercial environments. GNS has been working with Rototua’s Whakarewarewa Village since 2014, using ion beam analysis to explore air quality issues and the implications of polluted air. Rotorua Daily Post
12 of our Investigators were successful in MBIE 2016 Endeavour Round.
MacDiarmid Investigators are involved in both ‘Smart Ideas’ and ‘Research Programmes’.
Project leader (MacDiarmid Institute Principal Investigator) Andreas Markwitz, of GNS Science, said findings would lead to an improved understanding of the health effects of volcanic eruptions and geothermal events in the central North Island. “The improved knowledge and understanding will help to underpin health monitoring and support geothermal and Māori tourism. It will also help […]
These are rapidly gaining an international profile as highly functional materials with the potential to deliver “next generation” semiconductor devices in UV optoelectronics, transparent electronics for solar cells and displays, high frequency/high temperature power electronics, and in nanoarchitecture due to their dramatic range of spontaneous polarisation induced nanostructures. Our semiconductor fabrication expertise gives us the […]
The MacDiarmid funding paid for the revamp and allowed the system to get up and running in as short a time frame as possible. About the Instrument: The system consists of three beam lines feeding in at different angles to a central ultra-high-vacuum chamber. The first beam line is an ion implanter to shoot an […]
