Guidelines for admission to the Institute with PI status:

The applicant:

  1. will be an outstanding scientist; that is a scientist whose research is world class, as evidenced by international acceptance and impact or
  2. will be a scientist who has, in the opinion of the Director and Science Executive, the potential to become an outstanding scientist
  3. will be a scientist whose research closely links to the research areas in the Institute
  4. will make a significant contribution to at least one of the objectives
  5. must agree to the Code of Ethics of the Institute (RSNZ Code)


Benefits:

  1. funding.
  2. access to research equipment on a non-fee basis if the work is related to an objective within a Theme and this can be confirmed by the relevant Theme leader
  3. will be part of the communications loop, ie weekly electronic Update, Videoconference seminar list and Interface
  4. can cite membership in the Institute with PI status on their cv


All Pi's are expected to agree to adhere to the RSNZ Code of Ethics which has been adopted by the Institute.

Guidelines for admission to the Institute with AI status:

Applications for admission are considered regularly. If you wish to be considered for AI status please submit a covering letter indicating your links to Institute researchers and to the Institute along with a curriculum vitae to the Director, Professor Richard Blaikie.

The applicant:

  1. must demonstrate established research links with existing Principal Investigators
  2. must agree to the Code of Ethics of the Institute (RSNZ Code)


Benefits:

  1. access to research equipment on a non-fee basis if the work is related to an objective within a Theme and this can be confirmed by the relevant Theme leader
  2. will be part of the communications loop, ie weekly electronic Update, Videoconference seminar list and Interface
  3. can cite membership in the Institute with AI status on a cv
